We haven't learnt to resolve conflicts without violence

Humans have undertaken incredible exploration of the universe, defied gravity, blasted off on space odyssey overcoming gigantic obstacles, built the Great wall of China & Burj Khalifa. Admired Shakespeare, Leo Nardo Vinci, Gandhi, Marx, Camus & Dostoevsky. Are enlightened & enthralled by their insights and wisdom. Democracy, equity & justice are cherished ideals. Have gained the ability for mapping human genes. Internet has enabled instant communication across the globe. Have invented tools to delve into secrets of cosmic entities billions of light years away, significantly extended life span etc. etc. The list of human achievements is endless. B……………U…………………T We haven’t learnt to resolve conflicts between nations without wars, bombs, missiles, mass killings and devastation of nature. Violence, hatred, fear and suspicion linger between communities despite centuries of coexistence.

SAY NO TO WAR

Nothing positive can be achieved by wars. Wars unleash irreversible damage. Much of what is destroyed in just a few weeks of war will never be restored. Not talking about this war or that war. War as a concept needs to be opposed. A global peace movement like the one which gained strength after the World Wars is needed now. Otherwise, politicians mad with power, puffed up with inflated egos, equipped with tools capable of enormous destruction will obliterate human achievements of centuries. Can't the vast resources that are employed for destruction be used for combating the ill effects of climate change, preventing pandemics, eradicating poverty, making education and health care accessible to everyone ?
